About

Grant Sanders is one of the few people in the ad industry suited to create a resource like Clienting because of his widely varied career experiences. He has worked directly with clients at every level. He has worked, full- or part-time, within 36 different creative organizations. He’s been a much-sought-after freelancer. An agency employee. An agency executive team member. And an agency owner, twice. And he even worked on the client-side. He has pitched and won multi-million dollar accounts. He has presented creative in thousands of settings.

Grant is a three-decade veteran of the advertising and communications industry and he has bookended his career with ownership in two different firms. The first, in his mid-20s in Boston, was ad agency Latus, Szostakoski & Sanders. The latest is easier to pronounce: SAND which stands for Strategy, Art Narrative, Design. SAND serves clients in the sustainability sector. He founded SAND after working for twenty years commuting each week from his home on Nantucket Island to gigs across the country as a freelance copywriter, then full-time senior writer, then creative director at one of Connecticut’s most highly esteemed independent ad agencies, Mintz + Hoke. Clients for whom Grant has worked include Cigna, Kodak, Ikea, Anheuser-Busch, Virgin Atlantic, Liberty Mutual, Bose, Otis Elevator, Medtronic, Aetna, United Technologies, Intuit, American Express, Gartner, FrozFruit, Habitat for Humanity, Intel, Girl Scouts of America, GE, Boston Acoustics, CTDOT, See Something Say Something, National Space Society, Keurig, Connecticut Public Media, YoCrunch, and hundreds of other local and regional brands.  He and his wife, artist Barrie Sanders, moved to Nantucket in 1994 and raised two children there.
